Celebrating Lunar New Year: A Cultural Journey in Ms. Danforth's Class

Students in Ms. Danforth's class were deeply immersed in learning about Lunar New Year, which was celebrated on Wednesday, January 29th this year. This holiday marked the beginning of a new year based on the lunar calendar and is celebrated by diverse communities worldwide. The students diligently researched various cultural traditions associated with Lunar New Year, discovering the unique ways different communities honor this festive occasion. They also excitedly prepared costumes for a Dragon Dance and Lion Dance performance, which they showcased to CLES students on January 29th. This engaging project provided a wonderful opportunity for students to broaden their cultural understanding and share their newfound knowledge with their peers.
