Welcome to Canyon-Lister Elementary's new website!
I am very happy to share our new website with you, and I hope that you will now find it much easier to access information about both our school and School District 8 in this one location. Some highlights include having a much easier site to navigate; information from both our school and our district located in one place; and announcements and reminders updated regularly for parents and caregivers. The information that currently goes home via a newsletter or Facebook will now be found on our website, and we will be updating regularly- so check in frequently! In addition, you will be able to easily find information about our school growth plan and all of our exciting programs that faciliate learning both in and outside of the classroom. Over the next several months, we will be transitioning from paper and email-based communications (ie. newletters and emails) to only our website.
You will also notice our new school logo on the home page. Our logo represents things that we felt were special about Canyon-Lister Elementary School. The trees and mountains represent the importance of place, and our place as guests on this beautiful Ktunaxa land. It also represents our commitment to outdoor learning, through our school gardens, forest trails and tipi, our relationship with Creston Kids Outdoors Nature Preschool Program, and our focus on getting kids outdoors. The hearts represent the care we have for everyone in our school community. We include everyone and work hard to intentionally create a safe, positive and caring school culture for all. They also represent our care for the world around us, which we demonstrate through our formal commitment to taking positive action through our UNESCO school status.
