Canyon-Lister Elementary School is in its fourth year with a French Immersion class.  Since its beginning in the fall of 2020 we have seen significant growth and interest in the program, which has more than doubled from 12 students in 2020 to 29 students this year. 

Currently CLES has a single multi-age French Immersion classroom which includes students in grades 5-7, led by teacher Mme Victoria.  The predominant program used in the FI classroom is the AIM method, which uses a 'gesture approach' pared with French words.  This is a method of whole brain teaching to help students remember and use the language.
