A Very Special Letter Wedding in Kindergarten
Our kindergarten students recently took part in a very special and adorable ceremony where two important letters were officially united forever: Q and U.
The class gathered as “all 26 letters of the alphabet” to witness the big moment. Students learned that Mr. Q realized he could not go anywhere in a word without Miss U, and together they make the special /kw/ sound in words like quick, quiet, and quack. Through playful vows and lots of giggles, students discovered why these two letters are almost always seen side by side.
They also learned that while Q needs U, Miss U can still appear in many words all on her own, like fun, run, and sun. This fun and creative lesson helped students understand letter patterns, sounds, and spelling rules in a memorable way.
By the end of the ceremony, Q and U were officially pronounced together forever, and our kindergarten students left with smiles, laughter, and a deeper understanding of how letters work together to make words.
