This February, our Grade 3-4 class proudly presented a Black History Month assembly for the entire school. The students dedicated the month to studying influential figures in Black history. Their hard work culminated in a series of presentations, where each student shared what they learned with the audience.

Recently, our Grade 5, 6, and 7 French Immersion class had the pleasure of welcoming a special guest – a parent who shared the wonderful Quebec cultural tradition of making tire d'érable, also known as maple taffy. This hands-on lesson was not only educational but also a delicious treat for everyone involved.

Today, Ms. Milne's Grade 3-4 class celebrated World Read Aloud Day with great enthusiasm! This special day, dedicated to the joy and power of reading aloud, encourages people around the globe to share stories and connect through the magic of storytelling. The students took turns reading aloud to each other and to special classroom guests, including the principal.

We’re a month into 2025, and it’s so exciting to see snow! In schools right now, schools are offering ski trips and other opportunities for outdoor activities with great support from our bus drivers and other transportation staff who make sure children and youth get where they are going and back again safely during and after school hours.

Our students recently had the incredible opportunity to participate in the therapeutic riding program at the Creston Valley Society for Therapeutic Horsemanship (CVSTH). This experience has been transformative, providing them with not only physical benefits but also emotional and mental well-being.

In Miss Adams' class, students are learning about fossil fuels like crude oil and their formation from ancient plant and animal remains. They are discovering how these fuels are refined and used to create various plastic products. From everyday items like bottles and packaging to medical devices and car parts, the class is exploring the significant role of plastics in our lives.
